SPORT PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Sport Performance Management provides services in 6 key areas… you may choose to use only 1 service, or some, or all 6 according to your individual needs… however as per the Review-Plan-Implement / 2.5.1 Framework ©  we treat all activities and services as interrelated and interdependent. So, if we focus on only one or some of the key areas as per your request we always consider the impact on all other areas.

Independent and objective program review

Whether things are going great, or you are facing a large or small organizational crisis, it is sometimes necessary to step back and do a thorough independent and objective review. We use the RPI/251 Framework ©  to undertake a comprehensive review of your structure, systems and operations at the organizational and/or performance level.

Reviews include direct interviews with key personnel, review of relevant policies and documents and in some cases anonymous/confidential surveys.

We provide detailed reports and recommendations following the comprehensive review.

Sport Performance Management has conducted over 30 comprehensive reviews of sport organizations, including over 15 post-Olympic/Paralympic/World Cup performance outcome reviews.

Strategic planning

Having – and IMPLEMENTING – a well-designed strategic plan is essential for operational and/or performance success. The strategic plan should be comprehensive (i.e. considers all elements of the RPI/251 Framework ©), practical, and relevant to your specific Mission, Vision and objectives.

Sport Performance Management has developed and used a strategic planning workshop process (based on the RPI/251 Framework ©) that guides organizations and working groups through a planning process to develop a strategy that includes customized programs, and an implementation process that uses continuous monitoring and evaluation tools to ensure that the plan is effectively implemented.

The SPM strategic planning workshop process has been used by over 200 hundred sport organizations across the world.

Specific program design and implementation

Following a comprehensive review, or after a strategic planning workshop, or sometimes independently (i.e. without a review or planning workshop), an organization wishes to design and implement specific programs.

We will help you design, implement, monitor and evaluate specific and customized programs to help you achieve your objectives.

This could include, but is not limited to programs such as…

  • Design of athlete development pathways

  • Athlete talent identification and development

  • Coach recruitment

  • Coach education and individualized development programs

  • Competition alignment

  • Integrated Support Team (IST) management (Sport Sciences/Sports Medicine/ Sport Technology)

  • Policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) development and implementation

Facility design

Sport Performance Management has been part of the design team for the the structural and functional design of 5 international high performance centers in 3 countries. Dr. Davis has also been a member of the senior management team at 3 world class high performance centers in Australia, USA and Canada and can advise on the functional elements of sustainable operations, as well as the structural elements.

We work with architects and facility owners/operators to design single-sport or multi-sport facilities for either non-commercial or commercial operations. We ensure that the structural elements are designed to facilitate optimal functional needs for coaches and athletes.

Sport sciences, sports medicine, sport technology integration

We help you design and integrate Sport Sciences, Sports Medicine and Sport Technology services, programs and equipment to provide services and support for what the coaches and athletes actually need …. not for services and technology that are possible but unnecessary.

We help you integrate your expert service provider team into an effective Integrated Support Team (IST) and help you sort through the scientific and technology jargon so that you can decide what options will make a difference, and when you need them.

High performance competition preparation

(Olympic, Paralympic, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Continental Games and other major championships etc.)

Some events require specific preparation programs beyond the typical periodized plan. They need to integrate a long-term plan with specific yearly training plans, coach development (recruitment and succession planning), athlete pathway integration, athlete (and coach) Talent Identification and Development, and in some cases athlete life management issues.

We will help you design specific programs to help you prepare for “best ever success” for major performance events.

This includes, but is not limited to…

  • Specific athlete and team performance targeting

  • Resource Allocation Policy Development

  • Competition management

  • Scouting strategies

  • Event simulation and familiarization strategies

The need for targeted preparation is even more important when preparing for “home” events. Dr Davis has helped 4 different nations prepare for a home Olympics/Paralympics.
